I am having so much fun with the Craftsy Block of the Month with Amy Gibson. It is FREE and very INFORMATIVE. She makes it fun, easy, and stress free. I have completed January through May and will show you below how they turned out. You can go on their site and join this BOM at any time and catch up at your own pace. They will not let you skip ahead to the new month until it is the 1st of that month. I guess that makes you slow down and enjoy making the blocks as you go. . .
The January blocks (you get 2 each month) were . . .
The top block is called the Asterisk Block Pattern and the bottom is called
Wonky Pound Sign Block. Easy!
The February blocks were . . .
Top block is the Chevron and the bottom is the Balkan Puzzle Block.
The March blocks . . .
The top block is the String Block pattern and the bottom is the Broken Spider Web Block.April's blocks . . .
The top block is the Sunny With a Chance of Hex and the bottom is the Hexie Stripe Block. And May's blocks . . .
The top block is the Modern Log Cabin and the bottom is the Wonky Five-sided Log Cabin block.
I personally like the blocks that were more improvisational such as the May blocks, but actually enjoyed making all of these. I need to add to my piecing skills and this is an excellent way of doing that.
I would encourage both beginners and experienced quilters to go to Craftsy and sign up for this really good BOM club.
Have fun, enjoy the process, and amaze yourself!
Your blocks look great! I'm still working on the blocks for April and I need to hurry up. Those May blocks look fun to make.
